Scan for malware with Microsoft Defender

1. Open Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Quick scan.
2. For a deeper pass, choose Scan options > Full scan and start it while you can leave the PC on.
3. If you suspect something that loads before Windows, choose Microsoft Defender Antivirus (offline scan) and allow the restart.
4. Review Protection history for anything quarantined. Restore a file only when you are sure it is safe.

No scan replaces caution with email attachments. If you do not recognize the sender, do not open the file.
