Use Copilot responsibly
Copilot drafts and summarizes. You decide what gets sent, published, or treated as fact.
- Do not paste passwords, payment card numbers, or government ID numbers into a prompt.
- Treat legal, medical, and financial answers as a starting point and verify them with a qualified person.
- Check quotes, citations, and calculations. If Copilot did not show a source, look one up.
- Follow your work or school policy for customer data and confidential files.
Microsoft employees will not ask you to install remote-access software to “fix Copilot.” See how to recognize a support scam.
