Fix microphone and speaker problems in Teams

  1. Before the meeting, open Teams settings > Devices and choose the speaker and microphone you mean to use. Speak and watch the level move.
  2. If the level stays flat, open Windows Settings > Privacy & security > Microphone and allow microphone access, including for desktop apps.
  3. In the meeting, select the arrow next to the microphone and pick the device again. Bluetooth headsets sometimes reconnect as a second device.
  4. Quit other apps that might hold the microphone, then rejoin the call.
