Find the Copilot that's right for you

Copilot shows up in more than one place. What you can do depends on whether you are signed in, and on the Microsoft 365 subscription tied to that account.

  • Copilot on the web and in Windows can answer general questions without a paid add-on.
  • Copilot in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote is available when your account includes Microsoft 365 Copilot.
  • Work or school accounts follow your organization’s licenses and admin settings. A personal Microsoft account will not unlock work files.

Check what you have

  1. Sign in at account.microsoft.com with the account you use for the apps.
  2. Open Services & subscriptions and look for Microsoft 365 and Copilot.
  3. Open Word or Outlook and look for the Copilot button. If it is missing, you may be signed into a different account than the one with the subscription.

This demo cannot look up a real subscription. On the live services, the account page is the source of truth.
