Update drivers for a device
- Open Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates and install a driver that matches the device that is failing.
- If nothing is listed, open Device Manager, right-click the device, and choose Update driver > Search automatically.
- When Windows cannot find one, download the driver from the computer or device maker’s support page for your exact model.
- Restart after the installer finishes.
Avoid driver updater utilities from ads. They often replace a working driver with the wrong one.
